The 'L' to P&L.

Lauren is a Partner of P&L Business Partners, after 15 years of accounting and commercial finance experience. 

​

After completing her Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting, Finance and Financial Planning, Lauren began her career as a Tax and Business Services Accountant at Crowe Horwath (now Findex Group), focusing on monthly, quarterly and annual tax and compliance requirements for small to medium enterprises.

After being in public practice for 4 years, Lauren worked with the Cotton On Group for 10 years alongside senior management in a diverse range of roles. She spent many years in their centralised accounting team as a Senior Accountant, preparing and overseeing the Group's tax and financial reporting obligations for over 19 countries and travelled to various markets around the world to assist with acquisitions, set-ups, training, strategic plans, trade analytics and taxation requirements. 

An internal move to Commercial Finance Manager,  Lauren then provided commercial context and strategies for the expansion of the Groups License business. Her day-to-day role consisted of preparing trade analytics, ensuring the business was profitable, and liaising with our partners on merchandise plans and strategies, in addition to researching business opportunities in new markets. This role required understanding the proposed region’s economic stability and trade regulations, considering the strategic position of Cotton On in the region and investigating the viability of potential partners in the country.

It also involved establishing a clear logistics plan, property portfolio and financial model for new markets and presented a holistic business proposal for the Cotton On Group Board to consider.

Lauren's final role at Cotton On was Commercial Risk Manager, being responsible for reviewing company processes globally, identifying commercial risks and making recommendations to the board on improvements to mitigate financial leakage.

Lauren is also a qualified & accredited finance broker, assisting clients with consumer and commercial lending needs.
